The best (worst?) thing about Fishtown is the random song lyrics that occasionally appear written on utility boxes and barren walls throughout the neighborhood. Last year, someone made the whole neighborhood look like a frat douche paradise when they scribbled John Mayer lyrics on a utility box. Is Fishtown full of frat douches, no. That honor is reserved for Manayunk. However, the presence of John Mayer could certainly give that impression.
Now we have “I could drink a case of you and still be on my feet” written on the side of a wall on Allen Street, paying homage to the Joni Mitchelll song “A Case of You.” C’mon. Joni Mitchell…seriously? Maybe people in Fishtown should spend less time writing song lyrics on walls, and more time making sure people aren’t pooping on the sidewalk.
