Today is a landmark day here at LOLadelphia because I am introducing a new feature on the site which will be called Weaves in the Wild. The premise is simple: we all work together to find various ripped-out weaves all over Philadelphia, we photograph them, and then we post them on LOLadelphia along with the location.
Finding a weave in the wild is wonderful because it looks like a dead animal at first, but then upon closer inspection one realizes it’s someone’s hair and there’s probably a good story as to how that weave ended up where it did.
For the first Weaves in the Wild installment, I present to you this rather large weave that is entangled with a barbed wire fence between Ridge and Fairmount across the street from the back of the Divine Lorraine Hotel in North Philadelphia. How did it get up there? Who the hell knows, who the hell cares. It’s a weave, and it’s in the wild!
If you have a submission for Weaves in the Wild please send them to us via submit content or email. We are also looking for new installments of our ongoing series “The SEPTA Chronicles”, so if you have a particularly awesome/funny SEPTA story that’s worth sharing, please send that over as well.
