Everyone knows the lyrics to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song right? Right. So when a school in Western PA went into lockdown over the Fresh Prince song, which references West Philadelphia, there is sure to be a good story involved.
Travis Clawson, a senior at Ambridge Area High School quoted part of the song in his voicemail message. His eye doctor called to confirm an appointment, heard the lyric about “just shootin’ some b-ball outside the school” and misinterpreted it as “just shootin’ outside the school.” As a result, the eye doctor’s office called local police who ended up calling local police and the school ended up going into lockdown.
Western PA is a breed of its own. Oh, and Fresh Prince was a good show.
