A few months ago we declared 2011 to be the year of former Phillie Lenny Dykstra. Lenny has had an amazing year. In addition to being part of Charlie Sheen’s entourage and getting accused of sexual harassment, Lenny can now add two more things to his 2011 rap sheet of crimes he’s accused of. As of this afternoon, Lenny was arrested for grand theft auto and drug possession after using phony information to lease a car in California.
Dykstra was charged with 25 (!) misdemeanor and felony counts of grand theft auto, attempted grand theft auto, identity theft, and “other crimes.” Turns out Lenny and two other guys were trying to lease cars by providing phony information and phony credit through a made up business called Home Free Systems. How ironic, because if there is one thing Lenny Dykstra is not, it is “Home Free.”
Upon being arrested at his home, Dykstra decided to keep it interesting and was found in possession of cocaine, ecstacy, and human growth hormone. Perfect…simply perfect.
Also for those keeping track, the last time Dykstra was arrested was April 14th, so give the man some credit for making it through May without getting arrested. I’ll be really sad on December 31, 2011 when the Year of Dykstra comes to an end. He sure knows how to keep it interesting.
